5. Check your gums for any change in color. Healthy gums are a pink color. If your gums bleed when you brush, you’re either brushing too hard or you might have an impending gum disease issue. Rinse with warm water mixed with a little bit of hydrogen peroxide for a few days if your gums bleed. If they still bleed or get worse, make an appointment with your dentist immediately. Gingivitis is one of the most common gum diseases and can turn into periodontal disease and eventually tooth loss.
6. Mouthwash and floss really go hand in hand. Floss when you brush and use mouthwash when you floss. This will remove plague on the surface of your teeth; remove plaque and food participles in between your teeth; and keep your gums and breath smelling fresh. This is an ideal and harmonious way to maintain proper dental health.
